Eating Daisies 1979
Exhibited at the RSA in 1979. This print shows Barbara’s goat Skippy grazing on daisies in the rough area behind the row of cottages at Douglastown. A red cat, possibly a Macavity, gets in on the act.

Winter Max
From its earliest days The Stirling Gallery under the directorship of Angus Ogilvy exhibited Barbara’s work and in the 1980’s nine of her prints were made into cards. Happily, most of these shown on the following pages are still available from Stirling Gallery, 15 Claremont Terrace in Edinburgh EH6 7PJ.
The first of the cards shows Barbara’s cat Maxwell ensconced in his favourite chair.

Kinettles Sheep 1978
Barbara’s principle medium was linocut but here is a rare example of her working in lithography. Judging by the corner and edge marks around the image, it was drawn in crayon on a stone.
Kinettles is a small village close to her home in Douglastown.

Illustrated leg 1980
A highly original and eccentric image from the collection at The MacManus, Dundee’s Art Gallery and Museum. Thanks to Anna Robertson at the museum for the picture.

January 8/17 18″ x 24″
Placing the stark branches and wire in the foreground is an inspired stroke. There is no mistaking the season or the mood. The image was supplied by an auction house. Too close cropping has removed all the essential information.

Two sadly neglected prints discovered on a blog entitled Andamento, with a last posting of 2014. The blog seems no longer live and a website link was not functioning. The prints probably date from around 1984 but the writing is too blurred to be certain of the title or the dates. Klipframes were common at the time but this shows how inadequate they were for the long-term. Dirt and dampness could penetrate between the glass and the print causing serious damage.

Pollard and Squirrel 1973-1976 As yet untitled and undated.
Thanks to Sheila Mcafarlane for the image

Could this be Hen House exhibited at the RSA in 1979? The print behind
is Pict Knitting.
